His solitary routine is disrupted when one instruction leads him to Michael, a directionless opportunist whose life has been shaped by taking rather than giving. As the two men journey across the Derbyshire landscape completing a series of increasingly curious assignments, Michael is drawn into a hidden world of forgotten promises, long-buried memories and quiet acts of kindness that have quietly connected strangers for generations.
